This is very minor feedback, and not very important. I just happen to be a designer so I fuss over how things look.
Here is some feedback on the icons in the Linker panelβ¦
1. The “follow” icon
It has a downward arrow, but since it makes the panel scroll left to right, I think a left to right arrow would be easier to remember and understand. Also, the downward arrow looks like a pattern and this causes confusion with the other pattern buttons.2. The “transpose” icon
I think it’s a little ambiguous. It might be easier to remember what it does if it was something like the letters C D E F.3. “Copy” and “Clone” buttons
These two buttons have a very similar function and I think they belong together. I think you should remove the “new” button from between them and move it to the left.4. The “New” icon
I think this icon should be changed to something that looks less like the copy and clone buttons. The operation only involves one pattern, so IMHO its icon should only have one rectangle, not two.5. The “delete pattern” icon
I don’t think it looks like a delete icon. I would use a cross, or something that looks more like a bin.6. The “new track” buttons
I think it would be easier to understand if these icons just showed a single track, without any dotted tracks above and below. The dotted tracks make the icons easier to confuse with the pattern buttons.I am happy to contribute icons if needed π
November 23, 2019 at 10:06 am #29907TarghanKeymasterAll these are excellent suggestions. I’d be VERY happy if you could contribute. However, the next-next version will have the Linker overhauled, so I suggest that we wait a little before making these new icons. I’ll contact you back when working on this new version, and maybe you can come up with new icons. Thanks!!
